Andy Quotes

So I'm collecting quotes from Andy's posts for a new project I'm working on.

All quotes have to be real, actual quotes.

They DO NOT have to be taken in context. In fact, rip those tidbits out of the larger whole to present a misleading picture of Andy, that's fine.

    So, I've been collecting Andy's quotes and putting them up. We've topped 170+ quotes so far.

    I'm also a fan of Pogo, and just found an old first edition of Pogo: Prisoner of Love.

    Anyway, I was reading the intro, and couldn't help but think of Andy:

    "One of the happy accidents of being a cartoonist is the discovery, practically by chance, that people are dependable and steadfast. We can be relied upon for the gold of comic material which also can pan out to be the fool's gold of tragedy. Despite the fact that we repeat our acts of boobism over and over, we are always surprising and fascinating. There is a kind of hypnotism in watching our wriggling mirror reflections."

    What I get from this is that Andy's boobisms are kind of like a traffic accident--you can't take your eyes off of it.

    I am proud to say I used an Andy quote this week with a customer. He liked it, and I gave attribution.
