Going From Stretchy Slideshow to Stretchy Galleries
Currently, I'm using the galleries hack and stretchy slideshow for my home page here:

www.fortbenningphotos.com

I now want to have the main page show stretchy categories and no slideshow. I've tried a few different solutions and haven't been able to get it right.

I'm sure it's probably easier than I think - can someone point me in the right direction?

I've also searched and can find plenty of information about adding stretchy slideshow / categories; but there's something I'm missing to be able to reverse engineer it.

I'm not sure I understand. Right now you have a stretchy slideshow on the homepage and stretch category view on the galleries page.

You are saying that you want the stretchy categories on the homepage. Do you want to just get rid of the slideshow and the galleries page?

I want to get rid of the stretchy slideshow and have just the stretchy categories to show up on the main home page at www.fortbenningphotos.com

Or basically - the way that fortbenningphotos.com/galleries looks.... that's the way I want the main fortbenningphotos.com page to look.

Go into the homepage layout button and uncheck the bioBox. That removes the slideshow. Then, in your CSS, remove these lines in red:

Code:
.homepage #galleriesBox,
.homepage #categoriesBox,
.homepage #featuredBox {
display: none;
}
