newby to SEO - question about hiding keywords for galleries

I've added keywords to my galleries, but it appears that there is no way to have them functional and hidden. I just checked my site, and all of my galleries have the ugly keywording. How do I fix this and still remain searchable. I feel as though underwear is showing or something. I appreciate the help.
