Full moon last night
So what the heck -- I decided to try to get a pic of it. I've tried it before but have never really been happy with the results.

Well You should be fairly pleased with this one. I find it to be pretty
first class in every regard. Sweet job.

I have not had luck with moon photos. I've gotten close, but nothing this sharp.

Aside from f/4, what was your ISO and shutter-speed?

The lens was f/4 max aperture, but this image was taken at f/5.6, 1/1600 at ISO 200.

Pretty serious glass. Have never used one that large.
I get my good moon shots using a refractor telescope, sometimes a reflector, often using the projection method as it seems to work best for me.
