Eek7 A slideshow homepage and navbar to lead to the rest
Though I've been using SmugMug for a little while I haven't done much on the "fixing up" side of things.

I'm looking to set my site up similar to these guys -

http://www.moonriverphotography.com/
http://www.photoscapedesign.com/

I remember finding some help on creating the duplicate pages but can't find it now. Even so, I was a bit confused reading it.

Maybe having a list on the folder mapping would help.

Can someone point me in the right direction or even help?

Thanx!

This was exactly it - Thanx!

Now I'm off to a good "start".
I have a test slideshow and a separate Galleries page.
www.mattedesignphotos.com

Is there a way to have the URL for the Galleries page read mattedesignphotos/galleries instead of mattedesign.smugmug.com/galleries?

Next step ---
Now I'm looking for a way to add separate pages for About and Contact.
I guess they can be on the same page.
I've searched the forum, but maybe I haven't search enough.

Change the link in your navbar to be "/galleries" and then it will stay on whatever domain you were on at the homepage.

At first it seemed too easy, but it worked.
Thanx!

Now... Still hunting for a way to add separate pages for About/Contact page.

New pages are galleries.

If you want a photo on one side and text on the other, lock the gallery into the style Journal (Old), load a photo, and put your text in the photo caption.

If you want to control the overall look of the page, you will need to use an HTML-only gallery. Here's a link to one of Allen's tutorials to get you started with that - http://allen-steve.smugmug.com/gallery/3819841. You can click through the navbar entries on that page to find other tutorials.

I had a feeling that's what it might be.
Especially after digging into the two sites I'm trying to mirror.
Thanks! ...and thanks for the link. I'll definitely play with it a little.

I did notice that a couple of pages that were obviously gallery links (from looking at the URLs) didn't show up in the Galleries page.
Is that because it was marked as "Not Listed"?

...I guess I can check it out when I have another sec.
Just getting caught up in this thread and excited that I'm making progress.

Thanks again

So I'm making progress.
I was able to add a separate page for my contact info (which I'll play with later) but I was wondering if there was way to clean up the URL.

Currently - http://www.mattedesignphotos.com/Oth...10345694_tzkxa

Would be cool to just have it as - http://www.mattedesignphotos.com/Other/Contact

Is that possible?

You could create a redirect and use this as long as the word Contact is not used as a category name.
http://www.mattedesignphotos.com/Contact
See this thread, but this will not show in the browser url after page loads.

This is great!
By browsing the thread, I see there are plenty of other uses for this technique too. Thanx! I'll have to get back to this one.

Right now I'm wondering about the size of my main page's slideshow.
(mattedesignphotos.com)
I'd like to spec my slideshow like www.moonriverphotography.com but hit a bump.

Anyone find a link on this?
I found some slide show links but nothing for this.
