SB900 style gels for 580ex ii?

One thing I really enjoy about the SB900 is the Gel kit that came with it. Very easy to use and VERY professional looking (more so than using velcro to attach a piece of plastic.)

Does anyone know of a simular professional looking Gel Kit for the 580ex II?

I've heard the Phoxle one recommended a few times - never seen one IRL, but a few people have said they really like it.

Check out HONL system. They have gel sets.

And the flash and camera recognize what gel you use and automatically sets WB to adjust for that.

I have the Phoxle system... works good too. I just wish it also had WTG, and not just oranges and blues.

Not trying to stir things up..and I realize the nikon vs canon pendulum swings back and forth over time..but it appears the pendulum has been in the nikon camp for quite while now. hehe. The sb900 is another feather in the nikon cap.

Who has the best pro WA? Who has the best pro standard zoom? Nikon by far. Don't know enough about the 70-200mm that canon has but I don't think it can beat the nikon version.

Best FF camera? I thin the D3 is on top. The d700 is the best ISO peformance of any camera I think as well.

Yeah, I so want to use my SB900 with my 50D. Now if my d90 had AF Micro Adjust, I might use that more, oh and if Nikon glass would be priced equal to Canon.

but anyways, I really love the SB900. I might just shoot with my wife's d90 and the kit lens this weekend beside my 50D with my 17-55 EF-s f/2.8 just to see the difference.

I must be stupid today but if you Whitebal to the gel color wouldn't you neutralize the effect?

Never mind, these aren't for effect but to correct for lights in the room... I though you were putting on a red gel then having the whitebal cancel it out....

BTW: I just converted a diehard nikonian to canon. lol he'll never go back. He can shoot above ISO 400 with even the basic models. He also now has a much larger assortment of lenses within an affordable grasp.

Yeah, the cost of Nikon glass alone is enough to keep me from changing systems.

Correct, there are times when you want the camera to be adjusted automatically and other times not. For instance, shooting in "sweet" evening light with golden or reddish tones you might add fill flash and want that filtered to a similar tone, but you would probably want the WB set pretty cool to retain the warmth of the light. In that case, which would be much of my use of filtered flash, you would need to set a manual WB anyway or you would shoot RAW and disregard the camera WB, setting your WB preference in the RAW converter.
