Tutorials

Ever find yourself wondering just how someone managed to create an image using different effects?

Here are three simple tutorials we hope will encourage you to try something new.

The Hot Seat

A lifelong interest in landscape photography has led Eyal Oren to make a study of his adopted hometown of Marblehead, MA. As you can see, his dedication is paying off!

Africa!

Dgrinners Harryb, Pathfinder, and others joined Andy Williams and Marc Muench on Safari in East Africa recently. Here are some awesome threads to check out!

Cooperstown trip...
I had a blast last week, watching my son play at and roam the halls of Cooperstown. (my daughter roamed too!) For an old baseball guy like myself, to get to see the Hall of Fame, to watch (and chronicle) literally dozens of ballgames in one week was a true vacation!

My son's team did not fare well, 1-6 for the week, but there were some good highlights. The fields were immaculate, green enclosed walls all around, the only real photo down side was having to shoot the hitters through chain link all week. Lots of post processing.

Here's a quick pass at the week:

1: Kids checked into Cooperstown Dreams Park on the weekend

2: They stayed with their team in the barracks, 102 teams altogether

3: Opening ceremonies are imminent.

4: As they parachute in the first pitch and park flag.

5: Rain does not dampen teh spirits of the Great Lakes Lightning, my son's team.

6: top of the 1st, 1st game, MEAT!

7: Soft liner to 2nd FO-4

8: Bobbled, but recovered...

9: My all time favorite, Teddy Ballgame.....

10: My son, Monster (Sean), at a million ISO (4500) and a touch of NN

11: Again....

12: That Babe Ruth home run stare.....

13: Meat again!

14: Monster (reprise)

15: Obligatory team pic...

16: The Monster, the Midget and me....

Great shots! I like the one of Monster with his hat dropping. Willie Mays use to deliberately wear his hat a size too large so that it would fly off like that when he chased after a fly ball. That picture also has his eyes locked right on the ball. Love it!
