I love looking at your bird pics. I especially like #2 and the last one.

Simply beautiful.
Are you useing a "blind" to get this close? I would estimate you are within 20 to 40 feet of your subject?

I was at my sons soccer game today. there is an old barn near the field. throughout the game the swallows would fly onto the field, they are extremely fast!!! I said to myself how I wish i could " shoot " them, they never stood for very long anywhere - so i am AMAZED AT YOUR PICTURES!!!!

Hey Gene,
Outstanding as always. I wish I could shoot those little guys half as well you do.

I wanna know...
how many photos you took that day "didn't make the cut"?
I was looking at your gorgeous photos and thought, how'd he do that? Hmmmm, put some food out and then go hide behind a bush with a 1000mm lens? Hmmmm, he talks "bird".... Hmmmm, he's got to be one very patient dude! Whatever your secret, these are great. It's only in trying to shoot birds myself that I have greater respect for photos like these! Mine look nothing like yours, that's for sure! Ditto, with the you should post more often!

Gene,
You should be ashamed of yourself for bringing out the "big gun" on these small defensless lil birds I mean it's one thing to shoot hawks, eagles, herons and egrets with it. They are big nasty birds and can handle the heat.....lolJust kidding and thanks for posting these. They are excellent as usual. I just wish I could blame your success on the equipment you use, but I know better.....lolPlease continue to share these types of shots. They are inspirational and they motivate us to make our own shots better Steve
