Double Password ?

On my family slide show it ask for the password to enter which
is normal. After password entered slide show appears with an apparent
overlay which ask for password and then there is a log in button. ( this
second password "overlay" does not work.) This only happens on this new
unlisted, password protected slide show. Help appreciated..

Slideshows won't work if the gallery you are using for the slideshow is password protected. It can be unlisted, but not passworded. Even though the slideshow is in the same gallery, entering the password to get into the gallery will still result in the slideshow asking for a password, since the gallery is passworded. Hope that makes sense!

I have many slideshows running on my family site area. It's all hidden behind a
landing page. All my family galleries have the same password, external links
on, public not unlisted and hellos all on. With every show switch the only
problem is each show has that overlay for the same password and enter key
doesn't work but clicking login button does. But they all run. I'm in the
process of switching the links in the SS nav for most shows over to the
fullscreen one (link under share button) and it does not request a password.

I haven't found a solution for the password overlay but clicking login button
works here. The enter key does not.

Hi,

It's actually working the way it is designed currently. Passworded galleries don't work very well if you are using them for slideshows. Since the gallery is passworded, a password will be needed. Since your gallery is already unlisted, you could easily remove the password, and the slideshow will work without a password.

I got it running. The frame is covering it and not allowing clicking thru it.
Looking at solution. Be back.

I had to bring the show to the top and adjust the slides to fit.

Change your splash to this. (this gallery only not biobox)

splash: '/photos/420460158_BbkA7-738x738.jpg',

Change the height and width to this.

SM.flash.insertSlideshow(760, 490, ssConfig, 'transparent');

Change the CSS to this, remove the extra red one.
.gallery_7392774 #PSDFrame {
display: block;
}

.gallery_7392774 #PSDslideshow {
left: 70px;
}

.gallery_7392774 #PSDslideshow {
position: relative;
margin: 0 auto:
width: 775px;
top: -520px;
}

.gallery_7392774 #albumDescription {
height: 520px;
}

.gallery_7392774 #PSDslideshow {
position: relative;
margin: 0 auto:
width: 775px;
top: -503px;
left: -8px;
z-index: 99;
}

Lets me in now, clicking login area the whole screen moves up and then
makes me enter the password in space provided. Then hitting login starts
show. Pics do not quite fill frame though , can that be altered some, tried
and I cannot. Yet can live with if needed. Thanks for all the hard work, still
seems a smug problem..Let me know when you have time..

You photos are not the exact ratio of the inside of the frame. If they were you
could adjust the show size in the script to fit.

I might add the the frame over the slideshow works great if there is
nothing to click underneath like the control buttons or password enter.

First try to enter password make entire screen go up about 2 inches.
Then I have to put in password again and then hit login.. ????

Allen one more password ?
Just wanted to bump this.
At Moment: Overlay screen appears asking for password- login button.
I click anywhere in that area and the screen auto. moves up to top..
Then I click and it allows me to put password in ( viewable) and then
have to hit login to ENTER... SHOULD I be happy and leave it alone or
can the process be cleaned up abit.
Thanks

Don't know what's happening without looking at the code. Can you put a temp
PW on it so we can look? A link to the gallery also?
And what browser and OS is this happening with?

It's jumping here because the lightbox opens when typing in PW box, hitting
the "o" key opens it. Somehow it's picking up that keyboard shortcut.

Refresh/reload page and just hit the "o" key and see it. Change the password
to "bingi" and I bet it doesn't happen.

Move the splash photo out of the gallery and link to it some where else so no
photos are in the gallery.

Removing the "o" from the password and replacing with "i" now works, I think
the PW box is being sensed as part of the page and the letter o opens teh
lightbox. It still does that but at least now typing in the PW box doesn't. So
page doesn't jump here.

If you changed the gallery style to journal the keyboard shortcut won't be active.

I remove your CSS using WebDev and a photo still shows in the gallery, it's
very small but there. Hover over it and it shows this link.

Ok another day and thanks for all your work on this. No change on this
end. No problem though, I will live with what has been done. All threads
said one could not have a password protected slide show and you proved them
wrong. It just ask for password twice headscratch.gif and then all works . Was just
trying to fine tune to offset confusion from family members who would
be viewing the protected site.... Yes, if you have a brain storm let me have it. To date what you share to try changes nothing on my end...Thanks

I think the key is making any of these passworded galleries public, external
links on and all hellos set to yes. The PW keeps everyone out so why not.:D

I just opened both of those links and went to the show page. Both pages
loaded and the show ran. Absolutely no PW was entered for either site or
gallery or show. Firefox 3.0.6

Just tried both in IE6. First link had to enter PW for gallery and show. It ran ok.

Second link got right in and show ran with no PW entered for gallery or show.

btw, your nav needs fixin in IE6.

It worked here for both url's in both browsers.

Off looking at CSS for IE6. Nav html looks ok.
Edit: couldn't get my app to load all the way to check IE6. Might be
something in your js stopping it.
