Hey, congratulations on the superb image, could you share with us what equipment and settings you used? I.E Shutter speed, film ect.

Glad I was able to help.

That is one great picture (or should that be two great pictures? ) you've got there. The color correction adds a nice touch.

The hardest part of stitching the images together was the fact that the waves moved between the two exposures! I had to hack that together, but otherwise it wasn't too bad. By the way, did you know that there is a Photo Merge utility built into Photoshop CS??? That's the tool I wound up using here.

If I'm ever in the neighborhood I'll take you up on that beer!

1/40th sec @ f1.8 (that's one fast digicam!)
ISO 64
35mm equivalent focal length is 35mm

Thanks cletus...i looked them up but didnt believe the figures. How is it so fast in such low light ? I thought it would have been at least a second


The more i lean about photography the more i realize how little i know.

I've done a number of large scale image stitching projects and have used panavue with great results. I also encountered the wave problem. Panavue gives manual override in the form of manual stitching points.

My most challenging stitching project is here.

good link rutt....even found a pic a few hundred yards from my joint.

My old boat that we lived on in this spot for a couple of years is on the far right.
