Kid of Speed: photos of the Chernobyl Wasteland
Greetings everybody,

This is my first post here, I thought I'd share something I came across last week that moved me.

I searched the forum and I couldn't find it posted anywhere, it's a home made website by a young lady in the Ukraine. Her dad worked for the Soviet Union as a nuclear scientist of some sort, as a result she has access to the wastelands of the Chernobyl disaster.

She describes the effects of the radiation on the inhabitants of the country and her photos of the deserted towns, villages and even a large irradiated city are absolutely haunting,

it's a long read but well worth the effort, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Welcome,

I saw that several weeks ago and thought it was a great read. It's interesting to see that as bad as the area is contaminated, it can still be visited with no lasting effects. You need to know what you are doing to avoid some serious exposure however.
