Evening Peace at Lake Martin
Peaceful south Louisiana scene taken last Feb at Lake Martin on a clear winter day. Could have sat there for hours...which I came close to doing...watching the shadows and colors change.
Canon EOS Rebel XT w Canon 28-135mm IS USM; 1/200; f/9.0; ISO 100; FL 30mm; 0 EV

Beautiful! I love the colours on the trees comes out just right. Might I suggest a slight straightening, the slightly slanting horizon is very distracting.

Thanks for your comment, Robin. After looking closely, you were right and straightened the horizon. The cypress at left center actually bend some, apparently due to hurricane winds. Hope it looks better now.

Much improved! Where is this Lake Martin? As a Canuck these are very exotic looking trees.

Thanks. Lake Martin if part of the Cypress Island Preserve in south Louisiana and trees are Bald (Red) Cypress. For photo location see my Smugmaps. More photos on preserve at my Smugmug Gallery. It is one of my favorite "walkabout" places...complete with alligators, egrets, etc.
