More wag. Less Bark.
Why not tell us a bit about your trip. The pictures are great but only a part of the story.

Howdy Chris,

What a wonderful collection of images, the sharpness of detail, the beautiful color rendition, and the compositions and subjects are absolutely stunning.

I too would love to hear the Story of your Adventure and Travels.

I loved the Slideshow, I watched it twice, and went back and view the images one at a time.

Kindest Regards,

Craig

Expanded travelogue gallery posted
Thanks everyone for your kind comments! It is very much appreciated and encouraging.

Ian, others: I realized *after* I posted (because I read the guidelines too late!) that this particular forum prefers to hear about the trip as well see some images. My bad!

This weekend I spent a great deal of time posting an extended slideshow for family & friends, complete with lots of captions that tell the chronological story of our excellent trip. Given the nature of this forum, I suspect some of you will enjoy this more personalized approach as well. It contains over 200 images not seen in the previous "subset" gallery, which still exists. I believe it takes about 15 minutes to view.

For those of you in the USA, now is a perfect time to travel to Southeast Asia (particularly Bali & Lombok). It's one of the few remaining places in the world where our dollar still goes very far. As you will see, my wife and I, along with good friends Dan & Katie, were able to live and play in luxury in beautiful private villas at night (often cheaper than the hotels), whilst playing hard, taking long and fruitful day trips with inexpensively hired drivers, and frequently eating & interacting with the locals...who were wonderful every step of the way.

As detailed in the expanded gallery, we spent the first 3 nights in Jimbaran Bay, Bali. Then hopped on a quick flight to Lombok, where we spent 5 excellent days and nights based near Senggigi. In many ways, Lombok was the highlight for me. It's not nearly as developed, so I felt closer to the people. I love the culture shock! We then returned for a week based in Ubud, the heart of the Bali "artists" community. We put Lombok in the middle, so that the final return day back to the states did not also include having to fly from Lombok to Bali.

p.s. for those of you who have asked questions via private messages, I'll get back to you as soon as I can! Thanks for the interest.
