Summer Fishing

This was taken with my new favorite camera, fuji x100s. It wasn't a formal portrait and they didn't know I took the pic. I was testing out my new camera and photographing the pier you see in the background. I noticed a smaller pier had a spotlight on kids fishing so thought it might make for a good scene.

This is a great capture, the lighting, and B&W processing are spot on!

Awesome! Did you shoot the same vertically (or in portrait) showing more of the sky? I would love to see that one.

I stayed in landscape. Here's the color version, and one of the pier

The black and white is far more powerful.

Indeed, real nice pano with a perfect B&W conversion…seems like a darn good camera.

Like the images. After you've had time to really play with it give a review, please. I was thinking about that one or the XE2.

So far, it is the first compact that I don't miss shooting with a DSLR in regards to IQ. For perspective my main cameras are a D700 and D3s. I have been playing around with the commander mode of the flash triggering my phottix mitros+. With the built in ND filter, leaf shutter of the camera I am able to shoot at f2 outside and use flash. I have a senior portrait at the beach tonight so I plan on putting it through the paces.

I can't get the hang of my X100s. After a few months of trying, I've come to the conclusion that while it takes great photos, it just doesn't suit my style. I'm selling mine.

Having said that, these are nice shots and really demonstrate what a capable camera this is. I'm interested to see how you do with portraits.
