Colors of Maine

Ah, you thought I meant autumn colors! My last trip didn't yield much in the way of landscape shots, but I found a few subjects in the fishing villages. Enjoy!

Well, Lauren, this is not quite what I was expecting from your journey north....but I like what you have brought to the table. I particularly like #2. I'd like to see you really zero in on these old villages one time you're up there. I'll bet some of the buildings, like the one in #3, could fill a portfolio by themselves.

    Take care,

    Tom
I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

I think # 5 is my favorite. The sculptor looks totally involved with the pumpkin, beautiful capture!

And you said you didn't get much. Wrong. These are great shots of snippets of life in Maine. I agree with Tom - a study of fishing villages would be fun! Sort of like what we did in St. Martins - but more. That shot of Piper is excellent!

Tom - I am still disappointed that I have no good road shots for my collection but family activities were so numerous this trip that I had only one day to myself for shooting. That's when I go most of the shots you see above. You are right about the old buildings--they would indeed make an interesting study.

Denise - You should have seen how intense all of the sculptors were, with some amazing results. And the pumpkins were enormous--several hundred pounds I think.

Ceci - This was an extended version of what we did in St Martins, and I hope we can return there one day. As for showing snippets of Maine--that's why I took the shot of the mannequin statue. It is not Maine without the fisherman in the yellow rain slicker!

I will see if I can dig up a couple more seacoast shots.

    Thanks, friends!

Thanks, Randy. I'm not sure where the pumpkins were grown but it was somewhere in the area. There must have been 20 or more on the main street, with all sorts of carvings both finished and underway like the one here. The festival also included a pumpkin regatta, which I missed--wouldv've been fun to see the pumpkin boats float!
