Earlier this month, the annual Warbirds Over Monroe airshow was held at a small airport outside Charlotte, NC. Four P-51s, two Corsairs, a pair of B-25s, and a gaggle of Japanese replicas used in the movie Tora, Tora, Tora were just part of the aircraft on hand.

That must have been thrilling to be there, and of course also to shoot. #3, the Zero Attacks, is my favorite.

Great shots, John. There's none better than you at this kind of stuff.thumb.gif You sure don't see many SBDs flying around.

    Thank you all very much!

Tom, I think that SBD is one of only two airworthy examples left. Eric, I really liked the way those two formation shots turned out as well - they can be tricky, with a slow shutter speed to catch some prop blur, panning along with them, and the two aircraft moving around a little in formation. John, you're welcome to hang out with me anytime - and you don't even have to carry my camera bag!

A great combination of sharp images, great color and compositions, with very nice prop blur. Very well done!

These are all great. The shot of the SBD is a real beaut. Man, canopies slid open, and rear gunner training the guns......awesome!! I'd like to see that on a wall, blown up into mural size.

BTW, if you haven't seen it, History channel did a great story on an SBD that got tangled up with some Zero's. It's called called "Long Odds" and you can see it on Youtube.
