Andy, the screen shot of "use custom settings for history" you posted are the default settings for "remember history".
If you change from "remember history" to "use custom settings for history" you will see those settings.
If you go away and come back you will see "remember history" again unless you change a setting from those default settings.
So my setting is "remember history". Firefox version 26.

    Cheers,

Per the instructions from Help Desk, I cleared all cache/cookies in Chrome, closed/reopened browser, logged in through Smugmug.com. I was able to successfully complete a 40-file upload. Then - and this is the thing - I tried to upload a single file in the same active browser and the red texted "not logged in" message was back. This was last week, I am still limping along with this issue. Appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this, thanks.

For those that are having this issue, I think I've figured out what may be a reason WHY you are getting that "you don't appear to be logged" in issue.

Check your cookie settings. If you have 3rd party cookies blocked, the uploader will show the message. If you allow 3rd party cookies, you will not get the error. At least in my testing here this morning.

AFAIK, allowing 3rd party cookies has always been a requirement when you have a custom domain on SM.

    Here's Chrome: http://note.io/1ecYnc8

    Firefox: http://note.io/1ecYWmr

So, for those having the issue... check 3rd party cookies... enable them, and then go to your custom domain and login.

No this doesnot solve the problem ne_nau.gif....i have still to log out and log back in in order to be able to dowload a picture ....

We've also been having this problem.

Logging out and logging back in appears to be a temporary but tedious fix.

This logging out/in crap is getting old. Any chance it's actually going to get fixed?

My Chrome has always been like this ! However, the problem persists !

I decided to make an exception for myself. How about it ?

I am having a very similar problem with the uploader, although not the "not logged in" problem. Pretty consistently the uploader just quits uploading during an upload. I am using Safari and the only temporary fix seems to be to "reset Safari", quit Safari, then log back into Smugmug. That works for a while, but then the uploader hangs once again. I am also inconsistently having problems with Smugmug not recognizing duplicate files. When the uploader hangs and I go through the reset, quit, log in process and drag all the images back into the uploader, once in awhile the uploader will not recognize the files that were previously uploaded before the uploader hung up. This definitely seems to be a bug with the new uploader.

The old uploader was working fine, the problem started with the introduction of the new uploader.
It happens with both Firefox and Chrome. No settings were changed in the browsers.

    Conclusion:

There is nothing wrong with the new uploader there must be a problem with the browsers or their settings.
    It's only logical!!! drums.gif

    Cheers,

Seriously, this doesn't really make those that can help you want to help.

IDK if there's a bug or not, all I can do is tell you my experience (only way I can reproduce is if I turn 3rd Party cookies OFF). Your best bet is to write the help desk.

They are allowed, ie: not blocked. I am using, as I always have been, Chrome.

It's irritating, not anything I did, and don't like it. It changed when the uploader changed, therefore I believe it's a Smugmug issue and I did write the help desk, a week or so ago, and it's still happening.

    Not a happy customer.

New uploader hung in the middle of uploading 243 images. Restarted the browser and now it is not showing amount uploaded or should I say completed. Still shows 0/243 even when uploading and is skipping duplicates I hope. I can recite the first 3 emails from the help desk when I report this problem, it will be all my problem but we all know that.. I never asked for the uploader to be fixed because it well WAS NOT BROKEN and it doesn't appear to be the FTP uploader we all asked for the entire time I was a customer. I had not uploaded any since it was changed but I am not happy with it...

It's an expression of frustration. He, I, and others have said that cookies do not seem to be the problem. None of us use cookie restriction yet we seem to have the problem.

For me, the simple fix is to go to my home page and log back in. That usually works. It's a PITA and as others have said, didn't happen with the old uploader. This suggests it's some kind of software problem (at least to me it does).

Anyway, it is frustrating to deal with at best.

David, even heroes have to sleep. AFAIK, they close at Midnight ET and re-open in the wee hours ET (4am? 5am?), 7 days a week.

David: official, and fastest SmugMug support is via the help desk.

Dgrin is a COMMUNITY forum, which is also monitored by SM employees. But it's most certainly not your avenue for immediate help. http://help.smugmug.com is.

Andy you crack me up... I emailed as well.. And you didn't answer my last question which was prompted by one of YOUR responses.. I never expect immediate help on DGRIN.. I have been around to long.. Then again you already knew that.. Meaning always here as in email support 24x7 not on dgrin...

Andy, if you're right then SM is wrong. It would be good to get to the truth of this matter:
