Help with CSS and Slideshow
I spent most of the day, yes I am less than a genius with code, (OK and a few other things ), working on increasing the size of my homepage slideshow.

I downloaded jfriends codes. Read copious pages of instruction, and have partial success.

I was trying for full page, or larger than I got but the results are larger and better so for now I am good with it. Would like to reduce the space at the top to allow a slightly larger image and would like to move nav bars to the right, but not all the way right.

Now for my main issue. In my image galleries the slideshow option always generated a full screen show. Now it's the same size as the homepage slideshow.

How can I get my gallery full screen slideshow back? I believe it's a bit of code but I couldn't identify anything that looked like the offending characters. I seriously tried to read and I couldn't find an answer.

Sam -
I just checked your gallery slideshow and it is full screen on browsers other than IE. Smug hasn't supported full screen in IE for quite a while - in that browser the slideshow is limited by the size of the browser window. Are you seeing a problem in browsers other than IE?

It looks like your banner image has some empty space at the top and bottom. If you cut that out and reload the image, you can change your CSS for your banner to specify a slightly shorter height.

You would get more vertical space back by switching from "banner over navbar" to banner on the left and navbar on the right. Unfortunately with the width of your banner and navbar, I don't believe this change would play well on smaller screens. I suspect the two would overlap on laptops. If you want to try that I would recommend changing the size of your logo; it might work in a smaller font. Post back if you want to try that post back with a link to the smaller logo so someone can help with the CSS changes.

Denise,

Thanks for responding. I am using Firefox, but I just tried Safari, and it works the same. In my galleries open to the public the slideshow is not full screen. It is pretty large, about the same as the homepage, but not full screen. Also works the same way on my laptop.

Now if I use the slideshow on one of my hidden galleries it works just fine, full screen. All the published gallery images used to fill the entire screen, all of it, no room for title, text, or file names.

I think I will leave the home page alone for awhile. The only thing I will look into is changing the transitions to what I would consider simpler, yet elegant.

If you want the fullscreen slideshow for your homepage you will want the fastline slideshow instead of the jfriend one. That will force each image to stretch on your homepage.
