    Beautiful!
And, I imagine, quiet, fresh and all too brief...

I'll give you the back story:

I got up before daylight and drove 26 miles to the very end of Taylor Park, where the Elk mountains close off the valley. I wanted a picture of the rising sun shining on the Elk Mountain faces. Sure enough, heavy cloud cover. Just as I was about to fuss about it, I turned around and saw this scene. Turned my camera around and was able to snap off about four images before it completely disappeared!

So, with a successful image in the bag, I decided to get my fly rod out and make a few cast into the Taylor River headwater that was about 20 yards from me. While I was rigging up my rod, I saw some movement in the corner of my eye.

Five moose (3 bulls, 2 cows) we're walking down the river, right where I was going to be in about two minutes! Glad I wasn't faster, cause I would have been face to face with them down in the river. Moose are mean and very often aggressive. A man was stomped to death by a moose this summer in Colorado!

I did manage to get some good images of them though. I'll post them later.

Oops, wasn't planning on writing a novel eek7.gif

Beautiful colors, Randy! Sometimes our best shots end up being the ones we found when we turned away from the intended ones, right? Seeing the moose must've been quite a treat too.....but the best part for me is the fly fishing. It has been so long since I have done any. Somehow, the San Antonio River just does not lend itself to fly fishing. :D

I will take you up on the fishing one of these days. Let's definitely plan a shoot early next year, somewhere in the State of Texas--we have a few DGrinners around. If we start planning now we might actually pull it off.
