Son's Senior Shoot

Well I am staring a collection of photo's for my son's senior shoot. I have not really done portrait photography before. Completely out of my element, but my son wanted to do a little something like this.

    While I like the idea of the woodsy pictures, you may consider shooting later in the day or on an overcast day to avoid the harsh sunlight on his face. His eyes seems so shaded it's hard to see them. I like his outfit and the old-timey look.

    I agree with Kate. Reshoot these early or later in the day without such harsh sun and shadows. An alternative would be to find a shaded area to try and avoid the shadows.

    Also, I cannot see the aperture these were shot at. Can you open your lens a bit more to soften the backgrounds?

    Thanks for the advice. Now if I can get my son to do a re-shoot, that would be great.
