Bravo Carl! Love at first sight! Your effort was so worth it!clap.giflust
Even thought it is not a big bother, but couple of "Jet trails" that are vertical and standout, might be zapping candidate!

    Cheers!

    Beautiful!

I'd love to see a shot to the right of this one. I guess what I really want is to be standing next to you!

Thanks all, I'm quite happy with it, wasn't a great sky but its given me some encouragement to do it again. Yeah, those jet trails need zapping. ok if they were horizontal, but vertically they stand out too much.
I did a reccie a couple of days before, to see how long it would take me to climb, what my composition was going to be and where the sun was going to rise. Below is the shot I intended to get based on sunrise location, and even though its pleasant enough, its not great. But I might try it again! Battling with flare on this one too. I did get another shot later in the morning that I'm happy with it, but strangely my friends on facebook haven't given me many likes for that one, I'll post it towards the end of the week.

    Intended shot:-

Lovely location Carl! I would take an inch from top of second one if mine. Also not filters so sun star is clean and sharp. I would try to blend 2 exposure one with everything properly lit and one with sun star. JMO! Cheers m8!

Stunning location! I'm with Taz on the jet trails and cropping. That 2nd image feels like it wants to be cropped at 16x10.

Thanks all, I'll look in to cropping. Yes Taz you're right enough about the filters. I had a polariser and a ND grad in, and it added flare and softened the sun star. First time I've tried a sun star - lesson learnt!!thumb.gif
