Nerstrand Big Woods State Park is one of my favorite low traffic state parks in Minnesota with one of my favorite waterfalls.

Great shots Adam. How does it look in the winter?
Does the water flow, or freeze?

    Frozen Solid

    Dave,

Unfortunately, this waterfall freezes up early each year. I went there the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and it was frozen solid. As you can see it would make a great winter shot if only the falls would stay open.

I'm hoping for a spring melt down followed with a quick snow fall but I won't hold my breath.

OK, it's taken over 3 years for my wish to come true (note date of original thread) but I was able to finally get a shot of the falls running with some snow last Sunday.

The water amounts were not what I was hoping for but you take what you can get.

Agreed! I barely knew how to replace the memory card in my first camera when the original photos in this thread were taken lol3.gif

I often think "this shot would look even better if x, y, and z...." but I rarely follow up. Good for you!

If I had to pick I'd go for #1 mainly for the colors, but in terms of orientation they both work well thumb.gif

Thanks everyone for the comments. Like I mentioned before, the conditions were not ideal but they were the best I've encountered in the last 4 years.
