Cool. You know, I had been thinking about trying to give something not rusty the ol' rust treatment, but I think you got there first. Well done. thumb.gif

Well done Eric thumb.gif we love the cast iron items too. I save these items every time I find a keeper. After seeing your nice result I'll have poke around and find which flower bed my iron went to. Probably under the shade tree next to my chair some wheres. Thank-you Gentlemen, for your kind comments - I was pretty stoked about this one too.
What happened was, we went to a pretty nice yard sale and among the other things we bought (that we didn't need) was a pair of antique cast-iron cornbread pans.
Well, I really wanted to use them, and after giving-up trying to clean away the years of crud, I forgot, and left 'em outside... then came some rain... then came the mention from my wife about my goof.
I thought I was in trouble until I walked over and looked - Eureka!
I almost fell down running to the house to get the camera. wings.gif

Thanks Richard, for the look and the sentiment... something I heard, along those lines:

"The glass is neither half-empty nor half-full - it's simply twice as big as necessary" :D

Well, "Eureka" is funny as hell. From don't need to money can't buy & I get the added bonus of rediscovering this quote I have been looking for lightly over the years. First time I heard it, and I think this is the one, I thought "there it is"! Perfect answer. I wonder if Ashley Brilliant put that one together?

Some see the glass as half-empty, some see the glass as half-full. I see the glass as too big.

Thanks for finding the correct quote and attribution Michael - good to know, and to give credit due. Dunno where I heard the colloquial version.

Thanks so much Lauren, for the look and the kind comment... in this case, I think Lady Luck trumped cleverness. :D
I'm glad folks have a little fun with these rust images - most photography activities seem so *serious* at times... each has it's place. thumb.gif

BTW - Thinking about you folks in Texas today in the wake of the terrible explosion down there... hope you and yours are well.

Thanks, Eric. It is a very sad day up in West. I have been there a few times when I was in law school at Baylor. There is a pastry shop in West that makes the best goodies. I wonder if it was damaged in the explosion. I am glad I don't know anyone there. We are all fine here.
