I do better with a camera than a shotgun......With a shotgun the count would have been 10 shots one bird maybe.....

Ain't that the truth. We used to kid around that the B to B ratio (bullet to bird) for doves was about 1 box per bird. The only bird hunting I ever did when I was younger where you bought a case of shells.

I'm sticking with the camera these days. It's more gratifying and CHEAPER.

Oh, and I really like that photo. Good job!

I'm happy to see these Doves made it through Dove hunting season. They are such beautiful birds. I just love their Cooing.

Hi Blooze.......Thanks for dropping in and the nice comment.........I did a lot of trap shooting when I was younger. I could break 25 straight but couldn't hit those birds....

I had to chuckle, Gary, at your ( and other's ) responses to shooting dove. I got introduced to the sport when I was living in Austin, TX. A guy who owned a huge spread just out of town invited me along on a hunt at his place. I don't believe I got a single bird on that trip....shot at least a box of shells. The next two trips were pretty much the same story....I damned near turned down any more invites out of being embarrassed over my piss-poor performance. The guy convinced me to hang in there, said it would come to me.

Low and behold, I finally got my eye for that kind of shooting and I got to where I could knock those birds down from any direction....coming, going, cross-flight. It didn't make any difference. If I could see the darn bird, he was mine. In my case, perseverance prevailed.

Thanks for jogging my memory.
