Micro Moth against a rose background

This little micro moth landed on the edge of a leaf on the Queen Elizabeth rose bush this evening (well, late at night) as I was on one my late night wanderings around the garden.

Managed to get three reasonable shots of it - the first is the enviro shot, the second you can see the proboscis curled away, and the third you can see the proboscis has been extended.

The moth is around 8mm long.

    Paul,

A lovely set but I really like the way the broader part of the leaf 'reflects' the shape of the moth.

Thanks all - and yes Harold, the foliage mimics the moths shape nicely.

    Paul,

This is part of a huge invasion of the species, Diamond-back Moth, from Continental Europe. It is a pest of Brassicas and is insecticide-resistant.
