I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding the expected behavior, or if I'm doing something wrong, or if I've discovered something not working...

Here's the deal:

I'm wanting to, from within my SmugMug site, use the "Be Social" link to post an image immediately to my Blog (a wordpress installation on my own domain). Is that what that feature is used for?

SmugMug Site: codyjbennett.smugmug.com (http://photos.codyjbennett.com)
The 'test' image: http://photos.codyjbennett.com/Other/photowalks/2010-07-25-Valley-Heritage/13093693_EmjiZ#949102555_dZLYE-A-LB
Blog Site: blog.codyjbennett.com

The steps I'm taking are such:
Go to image
Click Be Social
Click Wordpress
Enter my blog (http://blog.codyjbennett.com)
Enter my username (cody)
Enter my password
Click "Login to wordpress"
Compose my post (title & description, no category)
Click Post to Wordpress

It grinds for a bit and says "posted! see it here!" and the "here" link points to http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/besocial/?AlbumID=13093693&AlbumKey=EmjiZ&ImageID=949102555&ImageKey=dZLYE&pageType=Album

I then check my wordpress blog for a new post, but nothing new appears.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks all!

    Hi,
    I think I may have the answer for you, at least I hope I do. I had the same exact issue and the problem stems from a setting in Wordpress. One warning sign that a setting isn't correct is that if no categories were being shown (maybe just a blank with a check mark and a X) in the Be Social, that means the following is not turned on in Wordpress.
    In the Settings, Writing area, look for the Remote Publishing and turn on the XML-RPC.

    Hope this helps, it was the fix for me.

    Sharky, you're a genius! That worked like a champ!

    It'd be nice if there was some type of error to indicate what was going on, or maybe a '?' mouse-over to tell us to make sure the WP settings were right, but oh well. And next up, I'll be hoping for added functionality like multiple images and choosing the specific width of the graphic used on WP. For now, I'll be thrilled with the existing feature! :)

    But again, Sharky, you've saved the day. Thanks for posting!

    Another adjustment that I'd love to make is to enable a slightly larger size when going from SM to WP.

    Right now the Be Social > Advanced Settings show 'Lrg' to be the biggest size available for posting, but I'd like to get an XL version embedded into my wordpress site.

    If recollection serves:
    Lrg = 800px wide, and
    XL = 1024px wide

    Any method to make it possible for me to get the Be Social tool to slap in the 1024px version?

    Thanks in advance!
