Bull Elk
Over the past few years the one comment I hear more and more is that there are no longer any elk in Yellowstone. The fact of the matter is that there are still elk in Yellowstone, but you have to be willing to get off the road a bit and look for them.
These are Just two of about a half dozen big bulls I was able to find on a recent trip. Packing a camera with a larger lens, a tri-pod, water and a few snacks can be a bit daunting, but imho, well worth the effort.
This guy was found on the bench land near Rye Pond above the Gardiner River.
This guy was along the Madison river about a 1/2 mile up stream from Madison Junction.
