Bug with Arrange Photos

I've noticed this behavior in a few galleries.

If I click any option to arrange the photos in a gallery that is set to auto arrange, it asks me if I want to manually arrange the photos instead.

When I click the "yes" button, it bounces me back to my homepage and I am unable to arrange the photos.

Under gallery settings set sort to "none" and "ascending" then all the arrange/sorts will work.

I did find that work around, but that was not the typical behavior.

For instance, I used to be able to auto sort by filenames and then later choose to move one or two photos to the beginning if I desired.

Now, if I have to turn off the auto sort before manually sorting, I lose the order by filenames and have to manually sort every photo.

And clearly there is some sort of glitch, or the option would not exist. It did not do this before.

Turn off auto sort and sort under "tools" by filename, caption or whatever. Then move photos around.

Any sort under "tools" is a one time sort.

If I attempt to do that, then I am kicked out of the gallery to the home page.

    Hi Tecnicole,

Sorry you are having trouble with this. This appears to be a bug in our system and we have reported this to our engineering team. To work around this, go to your gallery, click TOOLS < GALLERY SETTINGS < LOOK & FEEL < AUTO SORT < NONE < SAVE. Now go back to your gallery, click TOOLS < ARRANGE < ARRANGE PHOTOS.

If you need anything else, please let us know.

This has been around for a LONG time. The only sure way is this.

This fix was just pushed Live to the site. It's working for me, give it a try and see how it's working for you.

I don't know if this is the same bug that's being described in this thread or not, but I just started having trouble with manual arrange (the one where you're looking at the photo in the gallery & check the "Arrange" tick-box & just move one photo at a time.) The arrangement appears to be fine, but then as soon as I "turn my back" on it... i.e. when I do anything at all that would refresh the view, the photos on that page all scramble themselves! I know this bug existed before for awhile... it was several months ago. Very annoying. I didn't set anything in the "Tools>Sort", and usually I've set it to sort by filename before I go ahead & move photos manually. So I'll go try setting something there & then see if manual sort will stick. Anyway, please put this on the bug list as it's gonna affect lots of people every day!!

    Arrange button is MIA
Is it just me or did the arrange button disappear for galleries as well as folders?

I found it, you do have to arrange galleries on the home page first then it ‘comes back’ in the other areas.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure I know what you mean, but I'm not sure what you're calling "folders", either. I don't think I've seen a missing "arrange" button for galleries.

    Anna,
I'm guessing it's the arranging of galleries (or categories if you have your homepage set to display categories) the OP is referring to. That option is only available if you set the homepage galleries / categories box to sort by 'position' instead of by 'most recent'. Here's the help page.
