Gallery customization in new SM - don't want to display keywords

Does hiding the keywords on a page also hide them from the Search Engines? I'd like to hide mine but not if it impacts my search results.

I don't know what the search results will be, but hiding text on a page is not viewed in a positive light by Google. See https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/66353?hl=en.

They are still indexed and will show on the keyword and search pages.

On the legacy site there was a js hack to hide them in the keyword box. This was very important when
you added private keywords for site maintenance.

Thanks so much for your reply. I feel so lost and pretty frustrated by now. I've gone into the organizer and tried to create a page then attempted to move images from one of the other galleries to the new page, they won't move.

On the customization now every gallery I have is showing the same images. I've double checked they are pointing to the right gallery link and now my home page is showing the wrong images too, one gallery for the entire site!

I think I want to pull out my hair

How about a way to get rid of the link back to the original gallery when displaying photos in a smart gallery? Right now all I can do is password protect the original gallery - not optimal.

I would have to see one of these smart galleries. I/m guessing there is CSS to hide this just like we
could for legacy site. Got a link? Course I couldn't see it if you have not unveiled.

Sure - it only shows up in Journal, and Smug styles, but I'd like the option to use these without that link back. You'll see that if you click the link, it will ask for a password, which helps, but is pretty lame.

Allen,

Also, I have no idea why the tool wrench shows up under photos when I'm logged out. It doesn't function, so why would it be there? And the Info icon doesn't display any info - just a blank pop-up that says Info at the top. And today it seems even the Share button is not working when I'm logged out. Are you seeing the same on the page I posted above? Very non-user friendly!

Trouble removing keywords
I've tried this: .sm-tile-keywords { display: none; } in the CSS block for www.jenicesgummyworld.com but the keywords are still there.

Do you mean where it says "From Other Gallery"? If so, you can probably hide that with a css block like this:

.sm-tile-info > .sm-text-mini { display: none; }

I'm having this problem as well now.

I hadn't touched my galleries in months, yet now I'm seeing keywords and caption container visible across all of my images when in Lightbox view -- logged out and logged in. I'd always had them hidden before.

Why is this suddenly happening now when I'd never changed anything before?

I have tried the codes in this thread and they don't seem to work. Am I missing something?

Can someone take a look at my site and help me hide my keywords?

Your right-click non-protection is preventing me to isolate the code to hide it.

No, the tool I use (Firebug) to find what code to use, prevents me to use it...or at least it makes it more difficult. The code I use is this:

.sm-lightbox-keywords{display:none;}

I too have tried to remove my image keywords, and they show up only in hover mode, i.e. when the mouse is over the image, any CSS code to keep this from happening; I would like to remove the keywords even in hover mode.

Non of the above CSS blocks the keyords.

Along these lines, I have hidden keywords on my galleries and that is fine. But when someone clicks on an image, or runs a slideshow, the keywords still show up down at the bottom. I have many images with keywords that I do not wish to share, and so do not want to show anywhere. Is there a way to do this?

And, is there a way to prevent the entire list of keywords that I have used from showing up if someone starts a search and then goes to the "Keyword" page?

Any guidance would be appreciated, I'm barely conversant in adding CSS to my pages...

Using this CSS should remove it from every page:

Go to your Customizer, click "All Galleries" -> Click "Theme" tab -> Click under "Active Theme" there should be a wrench icon -> click on the advanced tab -> scroll down to "Custom CSS", click "edit" -> paste in the code.

Thanks for the quick response! I had found your info before, and added the CSS you referred to. It does remove it from gallery pages (where there are thumbnails of all the images plus one selected image larger). But, click on an image to enlarge it, and the keywords still show up below. Here is one example...

The CSS for legacy smug and new smug is totally different. Copying CSS from legacy will not help you implement changes in new smug.

The CSS that Hikin' Mike posted (above) should work for you. If it doesn't post back with a link to your site with the code in place and someone will be able to help you.

Getting there...
So thank you Mike and Denise - the additional code for the lightbox view took care of hiding keywords in pretty much every view I could check. Very much appreciate the guidance.

So here's my LAST question (for now...) If I enter a keyword for searching my photos in SmugMug, even if I'm not logged in, the search still shows up all those photos that I did not want people to be able to search for, even though I have both internet search and SmugMug search turned off for the galleries where those photos live.

I am not dealing with nuclear secrets here, but I hike and travel to a lot of places in the mountains for which I don't particularly care to publicize the location that is in my keywords set, but am not willing to lose the keyword metadata because I use it so much in Lightroom.

Any way to not let people search by my metadata keywords?
