Android App Guest Upload help

All,

Can't get the Android app to allow guests to upload pics from their Gallery, for example, to the galleries I have set the upload key for...

Can guests upload via the SmugMug Upload app on phone, or do they have to go to the url in browser on phone? I want to make it very easy for them to upload...

I did search forums before asking question, couldn't find answer... also, I don't have iphone, but same would apply for iphone app, too...

Hi Alanna,

Oops, we're sorry for any confusion. Guest uploading is only done through the browser. When you set a guest upload key you will be able to grab the guest upload link. You can share that link with guests, friends, clients, etc. When they click or visit the link they will be able to upload the gallery.

Guest uploading is not available through mobile apps, only the logged in account owner can upload with Camera Awesome on iPhone or Android.

Thanks, Christina, for the quick reply. That was kind of what I was thinking but wanted to be sure I understood that they could not upload with mobile app... Alanna

Well Dang it. I really needed the guest upload to work from mobile. Otherwise, It will be fruitless to get a group of cheer moms to send photos to a computer & then to smugmug since they keep most photos on their phones. Any chance that they will be able to send as guest directly from mobile in future/

Hi Monica,

The apps wouldn't work with guest uploading, but using the guest upload link through the browser on the phone may still be possible. I tried setting up a guest upload link and emailing it to myself, and from my mobile browser I'm able to open the email, click the link, click Add Photos and choose files from my camera roll, then upload.

Try a mobile browser other than Safari for now,

I was able to upload using Chrome on an iPhone and the guest upload link.
