Got some new gear, and now this blue moon happened, so I kinda had to step out on my balcony and shoot :)

Body: Canon 5DMarkIII, firmware 1.2.1 (Live View was used)
Lens: Canon EF 200-400/L4.0 IS USM Ext x1.4 (engaged) + TC x1.4
Tripod: Feisol Elite CT-3372LV Rapid 3-Section Carbon Fiber Tripod with Leveling Center Column
Head: Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base
Remote: Canon TC-80N remote cable

    Nice, Nik! The closeup is definitely better further from the horizon. I *love* live view for astro shots!

    Yeah, I agree and I know this. But I wanted to double check that even the latest and greatest gear has no way to overcome basic laws of optics ;)
