Recheck all your javascript, looks like it's stopping in the middle.

Hi Allen, I have no idea how to chk. I copied and followed the instruction last year from John Friend and forgotten most of the steps.

I don't think i've chgd anything to all the old scripts. Just added the new ones today.

Even when i removed the new music player code, the slide show just won't come back.

Looks like it's working now for me in Chrome. Did you figure it out?

JFriend HTML5 Slideshow
Hi, I am trying to install the stretch slideshow for my homepage. I followed all of the instructions and copied/pasted everything EXCEPT the code for the bio section.
My page became stretchy, so I know I am on the right track, but I cannot make the slideshow itself appear. I manually typed the code into the bio section and have double checked it. I can't find the error, but obviously there is one.
Can someone help please.
Thanks
Marion

There may be several errors. The first one I can see is that you need to remove this from the beginning of your bottom javascript:

FOOTER JAVASCRIPT:

That causes an immediate error so none of the bottom javascript is processed.

Then, looking in your bio, I can see that you have illegal types of quotation marks in several places which will also cause an error. Please make sure that all quotation marks are just plain text double quotation marks. NEVER, ever use a word processor for anything code related because they like to make fancy quotation marks which don't work in code.

Not Stretching
Hi there!

I'm having so much trouble with getting my new slideshow to stretch.

I've gone as far as to delete all old coding in my advanced customization except for your code.

I can see the slideshow on my homepage (though nothing else now that my nav bar and all other coding has been deleted temporarily) but it is not stretching. I checked the max size for the photos in my gallery, and they should be able to be bigger. I only have bio box enabled, and have tried inserting the coding from your tutorial painfully slow to ensure I'm not missing a step, but I must be doing something wrong.

Ugh.

Help!

It seems to be stretching just fine for me as shown in the attached image. What exactly makes you think it isn't stretching? Remember, it will never go larger than the window size so it scales the image up proportionally until it gets near one of the browser window edges and then doesn't scale any more. If your browser window size doesn't match the shape of the image, the image won't fill the browser window because to stretch/scale it non-proportionally would make it look bad.

Thanks for your reply! Perhaps I'm just seriously confused? The main reason I decided to switch over to the JFriend Slideshow was because of a thread that mentioned it as the slideshow that allows sites like the following to have images fill the screen:http://rupakphotography.smugmug.com/

I want my slideshow to fill my entire screen like the above website, but here is a print screen of what I'm currently working with:

Is it possible to do what I'm wanting (images filling the entire screen) with your slideshow, or am I on a wild goose chase? Thanks!

You can experiment with the superSize option for the slideshow (as described in the documentation), but if you want a full screen slideshow, then you may find it easier to use this one.
