Small apertures get great DOF.

Sam, is there a trick to get f-64? I know my zoom lens can go to f-32 or f-40. In theory at some point it softens the picture because of the way light bends at that aperture. Yours looks mighty sharp! The bridge might be a clone candidate here...then again post is about f-64. Exif is indicating f-16, so does TC or something need to be used to achieve f-64? All info appreciated!

Nice composition on the treasure chest, Sam, even if it was shot at f/16. mwink.gif

Yep, it'd be really nice to get all the plastic bags / bottles, crisp packets, bread wrappers etc etc in frame and in focus @ my local venue :)

ps ... I'll pm you when we get sufficient light (in UK) for f64 for use on my modified 500 with a moving target ...

Note to all, I was with Kdog at Kirby Cove when I shot this. Even the keen eyes of your intrepid moderator didn't see how this was done. :D

f16 would not come close to keeping everything in focus from a few feet to the bridge and city.

Focus stacking would be the obvious choice. That doesn't change your aperture though.

Sam might have rebuilt his lens to make the aperture really really small. deal.gif
