This hawker dragonfly appeared in the garden yesterday morning. Unfortunately it was cruising around only about 1 foot above the ground which attracted the attention of our cat. So we then had the cat chasing the dragonfly and the wife and I chasing the cat trying to stop it catching the dragonfly. We eventually did manage to catch the cat before it got the dragonfly and the dragonfly settled ona bottlebrush plant alowing me some shots.

Using a Tamron 90 on a 40D for the first 4 shots and an MPE-65 on a 5Dmk2 for the last 2 shots. Closest with the Tamron 90 was about 6" from the front of the lens and about 2.5" with the MPE-65.

Nice shooting.
You have to train your cat to hold a reflector or something. Not saying you need one for your shots.
