    I have to agree with you on this lens. I just received mine last week and this thing is sharp even at 2.8! Never used the new nikon 70-200 but I can't see how it is that much better. Money well spent.wings.gif

    Yes, it is sharp wide open. I read the review on popphoto.com, and they said it's the best bang for your buck considering the cost and the 6 yr warranty that comes with it. I was looking at the Canon II, but couldn't see paying almost $2000 for it. With the money I saved, I'll buy the 85 1.8 thumb.gif
