Well, I finally went through enough to create a post of mine and Sharon's trip which started with the Grand Tetons, and Yellowstone before we drove up to Glacier.

We really did have a great trip and enjoyed seeing some old friends and making a lot of new ones! We're both psyched about the '08 trip to Moab!

Thanks!

I'm really getting jealous of the shots you and the Minnesotans got in the Grand Tetons. Your Eagle shots came out way better than mine did. Great stuff Jack. I really like seeing everyones view of the same park, it makes me open my eyes a little wider for next time.

The Teton's were mine and Sharon's favorite and a place I think we'll be going back to. We didn't do as much in Yellowstone, but I can see spending a full week in the two parks.

Nice wildlife too! And your aspens are perfectly contrasted with the snow on the mountains and the blue tones in the water and sky. Everything that is beautiful about the west. thumb.gif

Thanks Adam! I still have a boatload of pics to go through and hope I can find a few more (like the barn we shot in the GT), bison etc.

I just realized I didn't post my Great Gray shot... eek7.gif

Thanks! Adam (Grimace), Sharon and I met up before dawn that Saturday - along with 50+ other photographers - and took quite a few shots. It was a gorgeous sunrise and I'm sure we'll all be posting a few more of that sunrise and area.

    Thanks, April!

We both enjoyed our time with you too. We should do some CA shootouts (Napa, Yosemite) before Moab like we'd discussed.

    Thanks Ben!

We found three Great Gray Owls in the Tetons. Not the best light or conditions - actually pretty dismall - but I did get a couple of decent shots. I think Adam posted one, and I have one on my website but forgot to include it in the thread so I'll post it with a few more shots in a few days.

    Hi Jack

It sure was nice to see you again, and to meet Sharon.

I really love the shot of the snake river (#10, I think).

and despite stopping there a couple times, I did not see the aspen shot at St. Mary Lake(#6) - really well done!!

Hi Ann and thanks! Sharon and I both enjoyed seeing everyone too! I only wish there were more time to be able to really get around and spend time with everyone. Seems like the 4 days go soooo quickly!

Such gorgeous shots, I'm sooo jealous!

Your woodpecker looks like a female hairy woodpecker, although they're pretty similar to the downy. The hairy is robin-sized, the downy is sparrow-sized.

Thanks Lori! If I recall correctly this one was about robin sized. I was shooting some smaller (really fast) birds when she came along and was noticeably larger.
