How to convert Adobe RGB colorspace files to sRGB
I am using Lightroom 3. Does anyone know a way to convert Adobe RGB colorspace files to sRGB?

Moved to Finishing School, this has nothing to do with SmugMug Customization

When you export, export to sRGB. Easy enough to do whether you use export to Disk or use SmugMug's Publishing LR tool.

When you right click in LR3, on the image you wish to export, a dialogue box pops up and you can choose your parameters ( including color space tag ) there as shown below

Standard sRGB profiles are matrix based and the conversion is Relative Colorimetric (even if Perceptual is offered in Adobe software), which can clip out of gamut colours from larger colour spaces such as Adobe RGB.

The ICC has been working on an sRGB profile that does contain a lookup table and offers a Perceptual conversion, so the larger source gamut can be compressed into the smaller sRGB gamut (the caveat being that both the source and destination profile are meant to be v4 specification).

I doubt that the above can be used in Lightroom (although I would be happy if Adobe changed things), so they would only be for Photoshop or other ICC software.

Due to a tag issue, the V4 ICC sRGB profile doesn’t show up in Lightroom. Does in Photoshop.

Andrew, thanks for the confirmation, I only use ACR.

Well it certainly don’t work there. All 4 profiles are hard-wired.

Yes, my vision (and most other raw conversion software authors) and Adobe's differ on that point!

One has to render to say ProPhoto RGB and then once in Photoshop one can convert with the perceptual sRGB profile.

Not ideal of course. This can (and should) be easily possible in LR if a simple tag is added to the beta profile. For ACR, I doubt that will happen anytime soon unless ACR opens other profiles for selection in the Workflow Options.
