Hide Ownership - Upload

I created a Gallery and want to have settings where guests can go into the Gallery and view, upload, and download photos but the owner is hidden.

I used to know how to do this but I'm missing something on the newer version of SM. I only see how to create a link to the Gallery, then create another link so guests can Upload.

How to I create one link that allows view, upload, and download but hides owner.

Thanks for any help or direction.

The only way I am aware of to hide the owner is to go into gallery settings and set Hide Owner to yes. That will change that gallery to use a url starting with www.smugmug.com and it will hide all of your customizations.

Hi Denise, yes I've used that before and you helped me before. But since they changed the site I can't get it to do what worked before. If I create a link to the Gallery that lets anyone in it looks like this:

http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-C8SRJQ/

But no one can upload to that link. Then if I create a link that let's them upload it looks like this:

http://glenknight.smugmug.com/upload/LK3Hv3/SAONashvilleReunion2014

and they can't see the photos.

Below are the setting I have now but I just want to create one link that let's a guest view AND upload or download. Maybe on the new SM you can't do that anymore.

BTW, on that first link when I email it out you do not see the Upload, Organize, or Customize button.

Ah, yes. That first link you aren't logged on to your site - so you won't see organize or customize.

Unfortunately I don't know how the guest upload works with respect to a gallery where you have hide owner set.

I'm sure someone from smug will jump in with the answer.

Yes, I signed out so it would be just like my guests. This used to work. They must have changed something when they upgraded the site or I just don't know how to do it.

Thanks for your help and maybe someone will know. If not I guess I'll just have to send out two links.

One for viewing and downloading and one for uploading.

Glen, yes, this is how guest uploading works, regardless of whether the gallery in question is set to Hide owner or not. The guest upload link will only allow the guest to upload, but they won't have a way to actually view the gallery. If you'd like them to be able to see photos after they upload them, you just need to give them the link to the gallery, too.
