Keyword content block, breadcrumbs and page navigation

I have put a keyword content block on a page. Before I click on a keyword my breadcrumb is:

[H] > Personal

When I click keyword = "texas" for example, my breadcrumb changes to:

[H] > Keyword > texas

So the purpose of the breadcrumb is compromised in that there is no direct way to get back to "Personal". Is there a way to fix this?

No way to fix that. The breadcrumb shows where you are on the site, not how you got there. It gets even worse if you happen to use a keyword content block with a limited scope. In other words, if you had a folder called 2015, you can show keywords that are used in that folder only. Clicking on one will bring up a normal looking keyword gallery. But there's no indication in the breadcrumb or anywhere else that you're only seeing results from inside the 2015 folder. Really confusing.

There was a very recent thread (maybe in Support?) where Allen just told me a way to edit the breadcrumb for pages with a content block (I think that's what it was) & it wasn't something I'd have had any clue was possible. I'll see if I can find it & post back. I'm not sure it fits this particular issue, but it may, & if it doesn't, it still may come in handy at some point for the OP. [ETA: It's possible this could help; Idk... it's in Post #44 of that thread about "Question for SmugMuggers who use SM as their shoebox..." etc. It sounds like this idea will work on something that starts out as an actual "Page" (meaning a SmugMug Page as opposed to a folder or gallery). Here's what Allen says: "Add an html block at top of content and insert whatever breadcrumb you want." People in that thread were discussing the fact that Pages start off with no real template; you can make them take on whatever attributes you want. I hope you can use this info somehow. Whole thread is here: http://dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=255794]

Thanks Anna Lisa. If I understand Allen's post correctly I think that could only work if I could somehow replace the page that get's called when I click a keyword with a page of my own. But I may be missing the boat here. Anyone see a way to do this?

Once landing on a keyword page there's no way for it to know what to return to. You'd have to hit the browser back button.

The "virtual" breadcumb "look alike" was to show links for pages back to it's calling "virtual" parent, not the actual path.
With NewSmug you can place content boxes everywhere and add galleries/folders/pages to anywhere not necessary
to path children. These links are probably not a child to the folder so its path would not return to this folder.
The new/old sharegroup works like this.
