why Sony is better than Nikon and Canon ?

I've truly haven't got anything "critical" to say and regardless of the fact that the title IS a bit "cruisin' for a bruisin'" from the Nikon/Canon clients who prowl here, it's entirely genuine. Sony is superior to anything Nikon and Canon, it's a straightforward truth.

The anxiety ridden fanboy mindset, which I am gotten up to speed in frequently, is truly simply the consequence of straightforward gathering think and the need to legitimize or maybe more to clarify why I've spent my cash on a sure item or certain brand. It's uniting feelings with soulless items. On the off chance that this wasn't the genuine, a straightforward examination of specs would figure out which camera was better. Be that as it may, individuals all the time neglect actualities in figuring out whether item An is superior to anything item B. Since individuals kind of have soft affections for their items, they will feel that their Sony/Canon/Nikon is superior to anything something else, regardless of the fact that the certainties say the inverse.

To get acknowledgment or acknowledgment for letting sentiments triumph over realities, we have a little gathering think in play. I say my Sony is superior to anything this gentlemen Nikon and the other Sony fellow says I am the speaker of truth. Straightforward maths, two against one. At that point the Nikon fellow searches out other Nikon gentlemen and they say those Sony fellows are misguided. Two against two, stalemate. It's vital for individuals to feel that they have a place and that they are a piece of something greater then themselves. Voila, Fanboy Mentality is conceived.

I can't say what made my purchase my first Sony DLSR, that is somewhat dark. However, every day from that point forward, my Sony Fanboy mindset has expanded. Every part of my camera I esteemed positive, expanded my Faboyishness. The negative I simply let myself overlook. It's takes something truly terrible and significant configuration imperfections to turn all alone sentiments. The more you have been a fanboy, the more it will take to detest your image.

This is the thing that makes me content with the camera I have and every time I utilize my camera I favor the day I purchased ut, congratulating me lauding myself for being splendid. I'm a virtuoso!

At last, specs doesn't generally make a difference (when you have enough of them that is). I have frieds with expert Nikon rigging and they take shitty pictures. Be that as it may, on the other hand, they wouldn't bring great pictures with a Sony either. It's the fellow or young lady directing the camera, what he sees and at simply the right minute who chooses toward press the shade catch who chooses if a photo is any great. Specs will just decide the nature of the picture, however not the significance of the photograph.

I just supplanted my A300 with the A65. I'm enamored, it's astounding, it's so quick, it littler in size, I can utilize the same battery, my glimmer fits, it looks incredible and it's a Sony. My Sony A65 is the best camera on the planet, dagnammit!!! After the FW upgrade, it's considerably FASTER.

Psssssssst.............I'll let you know somewhat mystery, I got the Sony A300 on the grounds that it wasn't a Canon or a Nikon. I like it when individuals say "Goodness, it's just a Sony". I like it when Nikons snicker at my hotshoe. It's distinctive and by needing to appear as something else and emerge, I needed to have a place. I like Sony for being the underdog, getting a Nikon would be too simple

Amit, don't take this the wrong way, but you need to do a lot less contemplation of the merits of your gear and focus more on your actual photography.

You joined this site this month and have posted just one photograph. The rest of your posts have focused on gear. This is a photography web site. Try posting some photos so we can all enjoy your talent and style. After that, we may be interested in learning your thoughts about your camera choices. Until then, you are an unknown entity spouting off opinions with no credibility.

Why do I find it odd that you posted a novice question about which camera to buy and 30 minutes later posted a love letter to Sony? headscratch.gif

I think we know what you're about.

Well, I've no idea how many of the pics on the BoJ website mentioned in your profile were taken by yourself, but seeing the type of pics there makes made me wonder why you didn't go for a FFrame body rather than a crop one, since that's what many people doing this sort of work seem to prefer.

And since Sony also do FF bodies, you'd be able to stay with your system of choice?

On a purely personal note, I'd prefer a body with 2 control wheels when shooting in manual, rather than just one as with the A65.

TLDR. Sony sensors are the best at the moment. The bodies and lens collection are not. If you crave maximum dynamic range but with a traditional sensible DSLR body, get a Nikon or Pentax. If you shoot sports, get a Canon. For landscapes in full spectrum light, Sigma is best.

    Hi Amit,

I actually thoroughly enjoy this type of discussion about which system is "superior" to another. Personally I review cameras for a living, and have been a full-time professional photographer for about 10 years, so I do know a thing or two about each and every system out there.

I would gladly challenge your assertion, and discuss why I think Sony is simply not (yet at least) a wholly superior system. However, the others here have a pretty valid point: First, as with any online community, you need to prove that you're not just another troll. Going straight from asking advice on a ~$1000 camera purchase to professing the superiority of one system is suspicious, at least in my own online experience.

So, participate in the discussion, and more importantly, participate in other discussions as well, share some more of your work, and the community will indeed allow you to gain its trust.

For now, I will only say this: Sony may have a lot of bells and whistles going for them, what with 4K video, in-body stabilization, and a few minor customizations / features that are worth investing in if you need those features in particular, however as a whole, Nikon and Canon do still offer more. Nikon uses Sony sensors, this is no secret, and yet Nikon almost always seems to be able to pull slightly BETTER image quality out of whatever Sony gives them. And aside from image quality, Nikon and Canon both have more solid, trustworthy systems compared to Sony. Not just autofocus, (although that is still a HUGE selling point for Canikon) but all around, Sony is still figuring out how to best design their camera interface, how to best implement certain features, etc. They have a long way to go before you can just flat-out call them "better".

And as others here have mentioned, it's not about the camera, it's about the images. This whole discussion is ONLY useful if someone here is actually looking to buy into a system from scratch, or if someone is actually having a crisis with their current system and is genuinely concerned that it will no longer meet their needs.

Otherwise, we're just a bunch of deeply-rooted system owners playing fantasy football with our "beloved" brands, as if somehow arguing for some sort of on-paper "win" will have an effect on the photography we do with the same gear we've always owned.

TLDR; I'm going to go take some pictures before we go any further in such an argument. I'm glad I'm a Nikon user, but I'm keeping my eye on Sony, Pentax, Fuji, Canon, etc.

    I'm not a fanboy, I'm just a camera geek.

Sorry people, just figuring out how to embed photo's here. It's been a few years since I have been on this forum. I just recently bought a Sony A-77 MII body, and trying to get back into the swing of things around here.
I have been shooting with Sony for a couple of years now, and what drove me to them, were certain features on a DSLR and a certain price I could afford.

Yes. They are terrible. Sensors are crap! :D

That's good how you feel about sony. I too was going sony route. They have a couple of good over priced lenses. In the end I stuck with what I had. If you can shoot you should be able to produce stunning images with any camera. Even plastic lenses.

Maybe - but only within the limitations of the body / lens combo, imo.
