How do I set the number of thumbnail columns to 3 in SmugMug Style?

Hi,

I currently have my galleries set to the SmugMug style and I'm trying to find a way to set the thumbnails columns to 3 columns only. Currently the number of columns varies depending on the screen size. I can across a smugmug gallery that "appears" to be using the SmugMug style, and those columns are fixed to 3 columns only. This layout allows for a much larger full image to the right.

I've searched for some CSS coding I could use to create what I'm looking for, but no luck. It could be that the site I'm looking at, and I am interested in replicating, is a professionally customize site.

Any thoughts?

You really can't. I'm seeing 4 columns in that example.

I REALLY wish Smugmug would design a better gallery than this gallery. It has to be the WORST presentation ever.

I'm seeing the number of thumbs on the right on that page changing as I shrink and enlarge the browser window.

Unfortunately, like Mike, I know of no way to control the columns of thumbs in a smugmug-style gallery.

Still makes me wonder why it is that when I look at my album I see 5 thumbnail columns and on the other album, I see 3 thumbnail columns:

Figured it out . . .

If I change to Gallery Settings > Photo Protection > X2Large instead of Original, or X3Large; then my gallery will open with 3 thumbnail galleries and a larger image. But only if I select X2Large.

Odd . . . will test the view on my other screens.

I found this out awhile ago too, but in my case, setting my photos to X3Large is what gives me 3 rows of thumbs on my desktop screen! (it may change whether you have it set to original thumbs or square, too. Also, I think the ratio of the photos out of certain cameras can change the display. In other words, some galleries may have all or almost all 4:3 images. Others may have all or almost all 3:2. That may change the height & width of other areas in the gallery, such as margins, etc. depending what settings you've made. If you've got panoramic images in the gallery (2:1 or 3:1) it all changes too.

Mike, do you mean the gallery itself, or SmugMug Style galleries in general need better design? If the latter, I'm glad I'm not alone in this. :cry (I wasn't sure if that gallery is a sample, or what.) On my screen, I see 3 columns of thumbs.
