Review by ian408

Ansel Adams is perhaps best known for a very small subset of his life's work. Although his best known work is arguably that done in Yosemite National Park, he did visit many national parks to photograph them.

Adams was one of the parks most adament supporters too.

This volume opens with his commencment address to Ocidental College in 1961; Give Nature Time. What follows is a portfolio of images and several pieces by noted authors of the time. Wallace Stegner, Richard B. Woodward and William A. Turnage.

It's evident that Adams loved the wilderness and wished to capture some of that magnificense in these images. From images like Thundercould, Unicorn Peak, Yosemite National Park to Interstadial Forest Detail, Glacier National Park to Coast Looking South Toward Point Reyes, Point Reyes National Seashore, his ability to show you his love of nature is evident.

If you're a fan of Ansel Adams, this book is for you. Even if just for the previously unseen images.
