"Featured Events" showing featured image for galleries within it

I suddenly came to the realization this week that the featured events module will only show images if there is a gallery within it that is public/not passworded. Yikes! Is there any way that they can show the featured image for the gallery within the event? It is completely frustrating to need to go through and add in a not passworded selection to each event just so my event page doesn't look as awful as it does right now. Of course I'm a numb nut and hadn't check it not logged in until now. This is the page I'm trying to fix: http://www.suzannesimmonsphotography.com/Proofs

And this is what it looks like logged in:

Privacy is really important, to both us and to our users. When someone selects a gallery to be password protected we assume they want it private and we're not going to expose any images, even if it's the feature, to users that haven't authenticated (entered the gallery password). Unfortunately the only work-around is the one you've suggested :(

Interesting. I figured it would be, but then hoped for a different answer since clicking on the event, which is not passworded, will show me the passworded gallery within the event with the featured image showing. So that's against all images being blocked in passworded galleries.

Visitors should still be required to enter the password to get into the event gallery. As the gallery owner you don't have to enter the password and you can see the featured image. If your client authenticates, they'll also be able to see the passworded gallery and its feature image if they return and the cookie hasn't expired.

Odd. Ok. I'm working on uploading additional galleries for every session now to fix it.

As a point of reference, when I look at my site from an Incognito window in Chrome, not logged in, not registered, no cookies, etc. I can still see the featured image for an event like this one: http://www.suzannesimmonsphotography.com/event/Kylie-Gary

Lesson learned at this point and I know what do fix to make it look pretty. I really wish there was a way to set the event feature image. I know it's been requested in the request area, but my guess is it isn't as straight forward as I'd like to think or it isn't as frequently requested.
