I'd like to upload a marketing piece as a photo to my site with images and text on packages. I set the image size to the width of my page 1050 pixels and the resolution at 72dpi, but when I upload the image to the site it looks like its been compressed and the quality isn't as good. The text is not crisp and a little hard to read.

Anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this? Thanks for your help.

This was a text file, or PDF, that you made into a photo (jpg, etc.)?
Did that degrade the quality at that stage? (Seems like it would.)

Then, I'm not sure setting the page width to match the photo width, would insure a viewing quality. What happens if you make the original photo at a very high resolution and even a much larger size pixel-wise, and then control for the size on the screen in the html?

    Hi,

The image you're referring to in your "Marketing Images" gallery is not displaying full size. The file is 1050 x 800 which is the X2 size as well as the Original size. Because you do not have originals enabled we can only display the image at the closest allowed display size which is XL, at 1008 x 768. You can try changing the Maximum Display Size to Original to see if you prefer that result.

To change the allowed display size to original go to your gallery settings. If you're in the gallery click Customize > Gallery Settings. If you're in the organizer select the gallery then, click the SETTINGS button. Once in gallery settings click SECURITY & PRIVACY then, set the Maximum Display Size to Original.

If you plan to embed this image on a page make sure you show the original sized image. There are different fonts, font sizes and weights in the image. Family Portrait Package has a bold header and large font size for the bullet points than the other packages.

Also, you currently have two Marketing Images galleries, one in the Business Resources folder and one not in a folder. The one not in a folder is currently set to PRIVATE so, only you will be able to see those images, they will not show up to other visitors if you use them on your site. You can change the privacy setting to UNLISTED if you would like to use those images. You might also want to allow originals in that gallery so that your buttons aren't scaled, stretched or limited for any reason. Or, you might just want to consolidate those two galleries to prevent any confusion in the future.
