Taken near Page AZ where Disney filmed John Carter from Mars.

A fascinating landscape and an excellent photo. I can't tell what the dark item on a rock in the middle left is. What is it?

Yeah- it is actually tough to identify without knowing in advance. It is actually my son standing on one of the rocks. The rock behind him really makes it difficult for him to stand out against the background.

Excellent Aaron! Got me dreaming! Not just Mars, it looks like the ruins from Prometheus! Like left over from some ancient civilization!

The black figure looks like a person with a rifle on their shoulder actually! I assume it is more likely a tripod with a camera attached given the fact that this is a photography forum however! ;)

It is a pretty cool location but getting around is a bit tiresome. You sink into the soft earth here and those hills are quite steep.

Haha.. He wishes I would let him play around with a rifle like that. He has been shooting both cameras and rifles since he was very young. He is pretty good at both too. mwink.gif

He's lucky enough to be playing around with a camera in such a cool location! ;)

    Wow, what a landscape!!!

Thanks Mike. I'd still like to make it up to some of those lakes near you one day.
