Keywords!

I have my site hosted on Smugmug, it looks great, but some SEO issues.
When you do a specific search, instead of the site showing in Google, a photo and keyword comes up instead.
Savvy searchers could hit the Home button and get to my website, but I'd rather the website be listed, and not the keyword.
Do others have this issue? And what's the solution? Not to put keywords on photos when uploaded?

Unfortunately there isn't a way to tell google to take someone to your home page as opposed to linking to a photo and keyword. Continue using keywords, consider using other text as well.

Keywords on your photos are good, as are titles and captions and gallery descriptions. Inbound links to your site are also important.

You might also want to add your site name to your signature here so people can easily find your site. That could allow you to receive more constructive suggestions for improving findability. Click the clipboard icon on the nav bar above, then Edit Signature. Begin your link with http:// to make it clickable.

Just curious - what are you using as search terms?
I used your site name as a starting point just so I could see some results. If someone was looking for a photographer in your area I don't think they would use a business name as search criteria but that at least gave me something to look at.

If I search for your site name - graham and graham photography manhattan beach - the images that come up on an image search are mixed. Some open keyword pages, some open other pages on your site. Again, I don't know of any way to tell a search engine to open your home page as opposed to a keyword page.

It appears that are are allowing keywords to be created based on your file names. When I look at your keyword page at http://www.grahamandgrahamphotography.com/keyword I am presented with more all numeric keywords than useful keywords. I'd recommend you turn this off. Go to Account Settings... Discovery... Search and set Filename keywording to off (unless you are changing the file names to meaningful words). You might also want to remove the all numeric keywords.

Searching the term 'Manhattan Beach photographer' I see your home page on the first page and the second spot on the "Three Pack". Isn't that what you want?

Hello Hikin' Mike--yes, love the rankings--my issue is that KEYWORDS pop instead of the main site. Not always, but sometimes. Was trying to figure out a solution.
