Seth and Elizabeth fall color engagement

A real cowboy couple. He runs a working ranch in Idaho and she is a city girl who is marrying him and moving out to the ranch. They are both over 6' tall and have great fun personalities. The shoot was lots of laughs and we had a great time. She looked so good in his hat I kept sticking it on her...I think after he sees these pictures he is going to have to give it to her haha.

    1, 6, 7, & 8 are def my faves! Very nice. Did you use an off-camera flash in the first one? Also would you mind explaining your post-processing and equip usage of these as well? Great couple!

    The lighting in the color shots is very cool and borders on almost looking like a fake background. I too am interested in how you achieved this look. bowdown.gif

    The pose of the 1st b&w is nice but that photo is very flat looking compared to the rest of this series.

    Hi Idlewild,
    I used off camera flash on all of them. Usually I set it to blend in so you can't tell but I really like to use a strong lighting contrast sometimes for dramatic effect like in 1.
    Used a 36" softbox with sb800.
    Taken with the d700 using the commander mode off camera flash set up.
    Lens was 24-70 2.8.
    Processed in Lightroom then tweaked in Photoshop elements. Used Nik filters on some of them.

    Thanks for commenting.
    The first black and white is not sepia like the others, I agree it does look different.
    The colors are mainly from the camera and darkening down the photo really brings out the color, increase contrast and saturation, then a blur effect using a NIK filter really makes it pop.
    Yes Elizabeth is a very pretty girl...she sure can show off a cowboy hot.
    She is going to look amazing in her wedding dress in January!

    1, 5, 7, 8, 9. 9 is my favorite. I love the setting in 1.
