Comments disappeared in New Smug

In old smug, I can see people's comment at the bottom of the gallery. In new smug, it disappeared. Under Gallery Setting > Social>Allow comments > On, didn't help. Is this not for that purpose?

I know its not lost but just need to enable it somewhere. Pls advise.

I believe you may need to drag a comments block onto the page. And if there were comments in old smug that you want to show in new smug the help page indicates that you need to import those comments.

You hv been always very helpful.

Ok, I got it drag the content block to the bottom of the gallery. But not sure where I hv gone wrong. The comments were twice repeated, ie original 4 comments become 8 comments. If I were to remove it without publishing, will the original comment in old smug also disappear?

Ah, maybe you didn't need to drag in a comment block if you now have two there. I don't know why you didn't see the comments before.

It may be that you only need to drag in a comment block if you are putting comments on a page as opposed to putting them in a gallery.

I don't believe removing them from the gallery in new smug will change legacy smugmug (assuming that you haven't unveiled your site yet and assuming that you didn't need to import your old comments to the new comment area. I haven't done this though and I can't mimic it on my site since I no longer have access to legacy smug. It might be worth checking with the help desk tp be sure - http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/emails/new.

There wasn't any commeny below the gallery at all. So I hv to drag and comments became repeated.

Anyway, I will remove one of the comments and see how it goes. No big deal for me.
