Changing folder directory structure?

I know this has been asked before & I once knew the answer but it's been a while!

If I change my directory structure ie. moving one folder full of galleries down one level into another folder will I break all the embedded links to photos & galleries withing that folder?

I just moved a gallery from one folder to another and the old link did not work. In Legacy the gallery
link carried the ID, XXXXXX_xxxxx so it worked no mater where you moved it.

So no, looks like it doesn't work. NewSmug folder/gallery links only have the "name" and not the ID.

A link to a photo carries the /i-xxxxxxxx (NewSmug) or XXXXXXXX_xxxxxx (legacy) at the end so it
works no matter where it is.

So old shared links to galleries in Legacy will not work in New SM? Is a 'fix' expected?

the old shared links to galleries from Legacy still work because those links included key information, not just the names.

I just verified this by clicking on a gallery link in my blog from the end of 2012, before the introduction of new smug. The gallery link continues to work properly.
