What do these mean?

I browse the landscape photos and galleries. You can select Photorank, newest or oldest. I am assuming that newest would be newest photo submitted or gallery updated. Oldest would be just opposite withou changes made. But what does Photorank do when I select it?

    Photorank is basically popularity and depends on several factors, such as comments, likes and views. So the photos that have been commented on, liked and viewed the most will have a higher photorank.
